I just moved to a new area which is so exciting! I’ve moved out with friends and we’re in a sharehouse and it’s going really well. There are some dramas, like people leaving their dirty dishes in the sink for days and doing nothing about them and people leaving the TV on too loud, but other than that it’s really good. It’s actually awesome. Having friends around all the time is such a great feeling and I am so glad that I’m getting to have that experience.
The only thing that’s difficult about moving is having to find new local goods and services. I’ve found a new doctor, decided on my favourite supermarket and chosen a new hairdresser (with great difficulty) and now it’s time to select my new mechanic. Brighton is known for having the best mechanics in the southeast, so I’ve gotten really lucky that I now live here. I’ve been looking forward to finding myself a really high-quality mechanic. I lived in the very outer suburbs of Melbourne prior to moving to Brighton, and unfortunately, when you live so remotely you’re not spoiled for choice. My mechanic was decent, but with very little competition, he had no motivation to be the best. I expect that I won’t have that issue in Brighton.
To decide which mechanic is the best for my car and needs, I’ve decided to meet with each one of them and tell them that I need a tyre repair. In the Brighton area, that’s not an uncommon thing to ask for, so I’m going to see what their solution to my problem is, how they handle it and how much they charge. As with every decision I’ve made this year since moving, I’m taking it very seriously. My endeavour to find the best mechanic local to Brighton is in full swing. It’s going to be a good one. I can feel it.
