Best and Expensive

I’ve always wanted a tattoo, but I’ve recently saved up enough money to justify getting one. The thing is, some tattooists can be expensive. I understand why, since they’re literally creating a work of art on a human body, and it’s permanent, so they deserve to be compensated correctly. Especially since many of them have been studying and practising for years, and that’s a lot of effort.

I want to choose the most established Japanese tattooist Brisbane has to offer to get my tattoo, since if I am essentially forced to show off my tattoo every time I wear a short sleeved shirt, I want it to look good. And I want it to be something I am proud of.

At the moment, I’m looking through all the different Japanese-inspired designs online to find some I like and can incorporate into my tattoo. There are literally thousands, so it’s a little bit overwhelming, but it’s ultimately very fun. I’m currently trying to choose between some beautiful pink cherry blossom flowers, and a tough-looking scaly dragon. Yes, I know, two very different subject matters.

Since my tattoo artist is arguably the best fine line tattooist in the Brisbane CBD, I might just bring my thoughts to her and let her collate them all according to her own vision. I don’t mind collaborating heavily with my artist, since after all they are the expert and they are the one doing me the service. Although I pay, it is a sharing of ideas that makes a tattoo special. Once I have chosen a few more ideas to bring to my artist, I next have to set a date for my first tattoo appointment, where we will discuss concepts and she will take my ideas away to draw a few examples of what I can expect. Then my role is to look over those concepts, tweak any if necessary, and bring them back to her so we can get started on the actual tattoo!
