Last night, I had a really awesome dream. It started off with a regular alien invasion, only when the aliens ventured out of their spacecraft, instead of interacting with humans, they travelled straight to the ocean and started talking to some random animal within its depths. We could measure the vibrations of their speech, but there’s not enough light down there to show us exactly who they were speaking to. Terrifying stuff.
Anyway, I found this brochure for a video production service and I think I’m going to call them up today. My dream was nuts, and it deserves to be shared with the world. I’m not talented enough to write my own script or even market my idea myself, which is why I have to hire other people to do that for me. I know the idea that first came from the dream could soon become the next blockbuster franchise if I play my cards right. I’m thinking animation might do the trick, since it allows me to get my descriptions and crazy sea creatures onto the page without spending millions of dollars on CGI. Millions of people can draw, right, but there aren’t millions of people who have millions of dollars. That’s my working theory, at least.
The video production service has joined with a 2D animation company for the next little while to offer joint services. I’m not sure how long they’re going to be working together, but I want to take advantage of this offer while I still can. It seems like such a good and affordable deal. A great team, a great price. And my great idea. I can’t wait. I’m going to send the finished alien invasion video around to some directors in the hopes that one of them (or even a few of them) are interested enough to pick up the script and turn it into a full length film.
