Becoming a Pirate

Last week, I set sail for the high seas. I’ve always wanted to become a pirate, but it’s harder than you think to simply quit your job and leave everything you’ve ever known.

I left notes for a lot of people to let them know not to worry about me, but I had to be quite vague about exactly what I was doing so that they wouldn’t come and find me themselves. Or, even worse, try and compete against me for the role of best pirate in the Australian waters.

This wasn’t an impulsive decision. Several years ago I hired a group of marine fabricators to build my boat for me. I suppose I could have just bought one off the rack, or walked into a boat showroom and chosen one there, but because I’m going to live on it and also steal many things using it, I thought it more important for it to be built to my specifications.

I’ve got this whole secret deck beneath a false floorboard to hide all my treasure. It’s pretty cool. So far I haven’t robbed any other boats, but I’m sure I’ll be able to soon. I’m just waiting for the perfect opportunity, since it would kind of suck to be caught immediately. That would be so embarrassing.

I also got a Melbourne stainless steel boat catch installation company to install a boat catch for me, to make it even easier for me to escape capture. This is because the device is able to launch and retrieve boats a lot faster, so I can speed away before anybody reaches me. It’s going to be so much fun. I wonder what my first haul of treasure is going to be! Maybe some fruits or vegetables, since I’m getting pretty hungry on the ocean with only fish and saltwater to eat. My one tip is to maybe bring some food, because relying on the ocean to feed you is tiring.
